AstroCamp 2015, sponsored by the SD Space Grant Consortium and SDSU, will be held July 14-15 on the campus of SDSU. The camp is open to South Dakota girls who will be entering 7th or 8th grade during the 2015-2016 school year. The camp will involve hands-on activities in many areas of astronomy as well as several make and take projects. No previous astronomy knowledge is required to participate!

Tuesday Evening Activities Learning to Use a Starwheel Adopt-A-Constellation Project Exploring the Sky with Stellarium Star Party (weather permitting)
Wednesday Activities Image Processing with the NASA MicroObservatory Space Travel (NASA's Destination: Mars) Engineering Design Challenge: Thermal Protection Systems (NASA) Viewing the Sun Sizing the Sun (including sunspots) Constructing a Sundial
During the two-day camp, students will be provided meals (lunch and dinner on Tuesday, breakfast and lunch on Wednesday) and lodging for Tuesday night. We encourage all participants to stay on campus as we will have an evening observing session on Tuesday night (weather permitting).
After the application date has closed on July 3, you will receive an email regarding your acceptance into the camp. If you are accepted, you will receive additional forms by mail which will need to be completed and returned with your non-refundable $45 registration fee by July 10.
